About Male Mallard Duck Swimming: Male mallard ducks, or drakes, are recognizable by their iridescent green heads, white neck rings, chestnut-brown chests, and grayish bodies, with yellow to orange bills. They are highly adaptable, found in various habitats including wetlands, lakes, rivers, and urban areas across North America, Europe, Asia, and parts of Africa. During the breeding season, drakes form strong pair bonds with females, exhibiting courtship displays and vocalizations. They are omnivorous, feeding on aquatic vegetation, insects, small fish, and crustaceans, and are often seen dabbling in shallow water. After the breeding season, drakes molt and temporarily adopt a more subdued plumage similar to females. // Image Credit: DailyJigsawPuzzles.net
